today there was wind. bitter wind. the kind of wind that takes your breath away when you are facing the wind. and it was bitter cold at the same time. not a great mixture.

this weekend the hubs and i will be opening presents and i cannot wait! i like to see the look on his face when he opens presents that he doesn't know he is getting. its the best. so excited for my second amazing christmas as a married couple, its going to be the best. we will continue one of my favorite traditions this weekend, eating chinese takeout for our christmas dinner. its the best.

these pants were my treasure of my black friday hunt. usually my black friday policy is 'only buy for other people not for yourself.' well....... for these pants i broke that little policy. i mean, bright orange cheetah print? where can you go wrong? plus they were uber on sale?! i swiped these up in a heart beat, because they were the last pair and they were in my size. it was like a glorious light shined down on these when i walked into the store. gahh... i love them. they are the best. i am done drooling over my purchase, but these will always make me so happy when i wear them.

wonderland

this is my backyard today. how gorgeous is this? it rained, and then snowed pretty much all day yesterday and this was our result. one plus living up north here is that the snow comes straight down, and not sideways, which makes it a little bit easier to love this precipitation for 5 months. unfortunately our day involved staying inside instead of enjoying this beautiful weather.

we had a sock draft today. whats that you ask? well, the hubs has a laundry basket full of socks. are there matches? where are the matches? this wonder is one of the most fascinating things to me, along with necklaces getting tangled while traveling. if you wash socks together, where does the mate go? its just mind boggling to me, and it only happens to brett's not mine. hmmmm.... brain teaser eh?

Decorations

we busted out the christmas decorations a couple weeks ago, and my house has just become clean enough to take pictures. although, now, all the presents are wrapped and under the tree. i finished christmas shopping this past weekend and i feel like a giant weight was lifted off my shoulders. its great having everything done and not having to worry about when to go, what to get etc. etc. to add to our great decor is the beautiful white snow on the ground outside. my sorels have been a staple of my outfits to work every morning, even if they completely don't go, its too darn cold.

this past saturday the hubs and i went christmas tree shopping. we really like the idea of going to a tree farm and cutting down your own, so we googled some places and the closest one we could find was near st. cloud. needless to say we weren't too keen on driving an hour just to get a christmas tree. then, a friend of ours informed of us of a little quaint tree farm near gull lake. we ventured up there and bought our gorgeous balsam fir. a little bit more spendy then planned, but hey, we bought it locally, right?!

after christmas tree shopping we drove around the lakes gawking at the gorgeous homes for sale that are way out of our price range. a girl can dream right?

tgif. man, this week has been a crazy busy week. and the state at which my house is in definitely reflects this. i wish i could just twitch my nose or blink my eyes and my whole house would be clean. but no, you have to do the work. and it has to be extra nice, because we have some visitors coming to visit saturday night. then not only do you have to pick up, you need to clean and do laundry!

also, tomorrow the hubs and i are headed to get a christmas tree and decorate the house in christmas decorations! i am a firm believer in zero christmas music, decorations, food, anything of the christmas sort until post thanksgiving. you can't celebrate one holiday before you celebrate another, am i right or am i right?

i am thankful for so many things in my wonderful life. if i named them all on here i would be rambling on for days. so lets just talk about my amazing family that i am thankful for. i have been blessed by such a close knit family, my mother and father, beautiful niece, sister and brother-in-law are all so amazing, loving and supportive and more than a girl could ask for (not to mention my in-laws are the bomb, i lucked out in that department). the hubs and i were able to travel to my parents house for thanksgiving, which was nice because we both had black friday off, so we were able to make a long weekend out of it. i treasure those times with my family as i don't get to see them as often as i use to. they are so great, and i do miss my fathers concern for me being cold if i don't have socks on in the house, and my mother waking me up for the day, and my sister and i bantering back and forth making each other laugh. you can never get enough of that, right?

here's to thanksgiving, and stay tuned for a black friday post. man did i take advantage of that holiday! black friday is a holiday, right?

this past weekend was so lovely. my college roommates came up north to have an amazing girls weekend. i kicked BPL out of the house, and the ladies invaded our home with doublestuffed oreos covered in peanut butter, swedish fish, puppy chow, and of course wine. i have known these girls for 8 years and counting, and it was such a nice weekend we had together, reminiscing, catching up on our new favorite show, nashville, and of course shopping.

i love them all so dearly and am so blessed to have them in my life. they are all such inspirations to me as they are all such strong women of faith, and i love them so much for that.

alright, so these pictures make my shirt look yellow, but i swear it is chartreuse? i was told by my boss today that i look like a vikings cheerleader. not sure if that was somehow a compliment or a slam because i have purple and a yellow color on. ugh oh well. if it is yellow, i guess skol vikes?

oh and can i please say how excited i am to travel home next week for thanksgiving? i can not wait to see family and my cute little adorable niece jovianna. can't wait to squeeze her cheeks!

it is the cold season. i take that back, not cold season, but bitter cold season. it has snowed up here for the last couple of days, and i have had my space heater on at work consistently. thank goodness i do not have to pay for that electric bill. when is it too soon to wear snow boots with sweatpants to work? i would of course change when i arrive. i thank my lucky stars everyday that my car has an automatic start. actually, not my lucky starts, my amazing parents for that awesome christmas present last year. remind again why i moved two hours further north? oh yeah, because i love my husband and he's the best.
