confusion

blazer: herbergers, tank: nordstrom rack, necklace: h&m,
jeans: forever21 heels: target, sunnies: betsey johnson
lets take a moment and discuss the weather. usually toward the end of september in minnesota we would be chatting about the excitement of wearing boots, and jackets, maybe even chat about the possibility of snow. but this year, my wardrobe is officially confused. i go to church in this and come home to put shorts and a tank top on because its in the 80's. i mean really? what is going on here. my blazers, sweaters, and boots are definitely a little flustered as to what is going on, as am i.

i, however, am not complaining! i usually dread the end of february when we have had snow for a straight 4-5 months and am anxiously awaiting spring weather. i am definitely soaking up this slight change in weather as long as it stays. i love wearing shorts and tanks when the leaves are turning colors! its a brand new adventure!

colors

this weekend we had a nice, chill weekend, with really no big plans. we did however, venture to crosslake, mn for crosslake days and to observe the lovely fall colors. we did not however, look to see how long it went and showed up just in time to see vendors taking their art down. i did however, get my caramel apple! seriously, the contrast of a green apple with caramel sweet gooey goodness just baffles my mind and i don't think i could ever get enough. the possibility of cavities is what stops me from eating one every day.

please enjoy some photos from our weekend of relaxation...

very overwhelming store we ventured into. not only did it sell clothes and knick knacks, it sold ice cream and food! endless store of a hodge podge of artisans.

reminds me of zoe.

i guess we have different taste

pencil skirts

striped top: forever21, skirt: francesca's, heels: dsw, watch: target, necklace: forever21

today was such a lovely day up north here, that i decided to celebrate by wearing one of my favorites, my pencil skirt. this pencil skirt was another great find at francesca's. i swear i have worn it too many times to wear it again, but then another shirt shows up that looks great with it. and might i add i did not know i had hips until i owned a pencil skirt. so thank you ms. pencil skirt for that extra boost of confidence and curves today.

Below you will find my adorable husband as he likes to make fun of me trying to take pictures.
enjoy!

pop

black sweater: gap, blue striped shirt: francesca's, bangles: forever21
watch: target,  pants: kohls, heels: nordstrom rack
pop: i love both kinds. a pop of color, or the beverage.

pop of color with classic black. can you really go wrong? i was drawn to this shirt when i saw it. is it a blue shirt with white stripes or a white shirt with blue stripes? very intriguing, really, don't you think? francesca's is probably my favorite place to go when i am looking for something unique. you can never go wrong in that store. unfortunately up north, the nearest francesca's is 2 hours away, so i am going to have to settle for online shopping.

might i add that i am mildly obsessed with the carbonated beverage pop. i use to strictly drink diet coke. at least two cans a day. now i have strictly refrained from the brown beverage and stuck to non brown beverages. my current obsessions include black cherry fresca, ginger ale, and cherry 7up. water just doesn't do the trick for me anymore, so i have at least one of these every day. thats super healthy right?

leopard

trousers: banana republic, leopard belt: banana republic,
blouse: gap, green cardigan: eddie bauer watch: target

i have officially come to the conclusion that my leopard belt can literally add spice to any outfit. honestly, i do not know why i haven't thought of this sooner. you can wear it with dress pants, jeans, colored jeans, cinched at the waist with a dress i mean can you really go wrong? you will come to realize that it is one of my favorite accessories.

after a weekend of layers and bitter cold, i was a little more excited than normal to get back to dressing up for work, and the addition of my leopard belt made it that much more exciting.

Iron Range

Beautiful fall colors

the view from our cabin

here's to a fabulous fall!

i spent this past weekend with the hubs' family on the iron range in northern minnesota. hubs' parents, scooter and bon bon, and grandpa and grandma were all there! we had the luxury of staying in a cute little cabin in cook, minnesota right on lake vermillion.

let me tell you, the whole weekend i had long underwear, at least two pairs of socks, and at least two long sleeve shirts on. it was not a prime time to be fashionable. i hung out with the men most of the time as i was determined to catch a walleye, and i did! three of them, no big deal. it was definitely a slow fishing trip as no one really caught any until the last morning.

observing the gorgeous fall colors and listening to all of the laugen/seiffert family history was such an amazing experience and definitely surpassed the fact that i was freezing most of the time. i was honored to be invited onto this trip as usually it is just the men, but this year the ladies were invited. i hope i passed the fishing test! hopefully you enjoy a few of the pictures from this past weekend.

tgif

skinny jeans: heartbreaker, black blazer: forever21, plaid shirt: gap, watch: target

first off let me just say TGIF!!!! and second off let me just apologize for the poor quality of my pictures today. we had to take some pics quickly before the thunder clouds rolled in, and there aren't too many options in our yard to take pictures in nice lighting.

well the hubs and i are packing up for a weekend of freezing my tail off. we are headed to lake vermillion in minnesota for some fun family bonding time with scooter and bon bon, along with grandpa and grandma! there will be plenty of fishing, maybe a little knitting (if i remember how to), cozying up with a blanket overlooking the lake with a good book, and maybe even some yahtzee. the temperature range while we are there is going to be anywhere from 40-55 degrees and if you know me, i am not a fan of being in the bitter cold. so do not worry as i packed so many layers i will most likely be looking like the kid from A Christmas Story. i even packed my snow pants and snow boots! this chick is not joking around.

well wish me luck on my fishing endeavors and i will definitely be making a post when i get back monday of pics from the weekend. i will let you know if i got frost bite or not.

p.s. the hubs is waking me up at 5am to leave. 5AM! we better be stopping at starbucks for a fall drink before we leave otherwise i am sleeping the whole way there.

mortgages

lime sweater: gap, black sweater: gap, grey dress pants: banana republic
gold chain necklace: forever21, nude heels: dsw

mortgages. that word is a part of my vocabulary on a regular basis as of today. say hello to a brand new loan processor. what that entails you ask? well let me tell you... i am still working on figuring that one out. but i am super excited about my new adventure! the best part? is that i get to dress up every day for work! so here's to mortgages and making some great new friends at my awesome new job! tomorrow is  casual day friday of course, so i get the best of both worlds, right?

relaxing with the hubs, eating lasagna, watching the season premiere of up all night and cuddling with my pup is what my night has in store for me, what about yours? and did i mention i get to dress up for work??!
