its all in the details. look at the lovely neon piping on this cream shirt. its genius! i mean to the naked eye, this is just any 'ole cream shirt. but then when you get up close... whoa! neon green?! who woulda thunk? also, these pants are from the loft and i apologize for how wrinkly they are. its embarrassing and i apologize. i ironed them this morning and they wrinkle like the dickens!

that lovely cheetah belt is another fav detail of mine. you can never have enough little details, right?

these are just a few of my favorite pictures of my girl zoe. friday was a rough day at the laugen household, i think more rough than either of us could have expected. she lived a great life, and i for sure am a firm believer in dogs going to heaven. love you zoe, you were the best dog a girl could have asked for.

today i woke up to snow. on the ground and in the air. this is my view on snow: we need snow for a white christmas, and new years, once they are over, it can become mid 70's again, and everything will be fine and dandy. thanks to the ground not being frozen yet, the snow did not stick of course, but its just the fact that it snowed and its not even halloween yet, is what gets me. ya know?

tonight brett's sister and niece drove up from the cities to say goodbye to our precious pup. zoe was the first dog jalyn, our niece, knew and loved. i think brett and i have just gotten to the point that we just want to get it over with. we have been dreading this day for the past two weeks, we have cried, cuddled, and then cried some more. honestly, i can't imagine losing a child, because losing a pet is horrible.

let me tell you a little somethin somethin about these lovely wedges. two years ago i found these gems while i was shopping at the mall of america in one of my favorite stores, nordstrom rack. i mean really, who would have thunk that they would be more in style now, than they were two years ago? yes they are a little scuffed up, but i love that even though they are blue, they can go with anything. and, they probably will still be in style in another couple of years, how bout them apples!

my new go-to hair do. its basically a flip ponytail, and then pinning the hair into the flip.

great news, my foot isn't broken! hence the no boot. i am so happy that i don't have to wear that darn boot for 5 more weeks, i don't know what i would have done. 

plaid is an easy dress up or dress down option. i mean really, if you think about it, has plaid ever gone out of style? its a classic that can always be worn. i could probably even pair it with a skirt and dress it up as well. i love it. being in the northland people appreciate plaid, and flannel like a fine cuisine. so, here's to paul bunyan land and many more plaid/flannel photos to come.

this is my girl. one of my favorite things about her is that she always has to be laying on something, and one of her favorite items to lay on is our clothes. if there is a pile of clothes on the floor, she will make that her bed and sleep away. isn't she cute?

relaxation

this weekend was a weekend of full on relaxation. the hubby was gone killing things, duck/pheasant hunting, and my bum foot, my pup and i decided to stay home for a nice cozy weekend. lets just say a lot of laundry, cleaning, and movie watching got done. this outfit was warn alternating with baggy sweatpants and a sweatshirt.

this weekend was a great time to soak in my girl zoe. after a long time of procrastinating, and tears, brett and i have decided to put zoe down this friday. zoe has been suffering from cancer since last spring and has continued to slowly deteriorate her love for life. the cancer on her paw has grown to the size of a baseball, and brett and i decided we can not be selfish anymore. this week is dedicated to her and there will be at least one picture of her every day so we can relish in these last few days we have with her.

thats right... i am in a boot. i have been absent these past couple of days recuperating. i guess my little fall down the stairs was a little worse than i had expected. i went to urgent care, had some x-rays and the doc said he couldn't tell if it is broken or not so i will be seeing the orthopedic doc on monday.  really? i mean really?? how horribly ugly is this darn boot. i think i am going to start making up a story as to how/why i have a boot on. got any ideas?

p.s. i am not setting my alarm tomorrow. sue me.

does this look like a face thats in pain? i'm a good actress, huh? well let me just tell you a little story about this afternoon. it was just an ordinary tuesday, about to head down a flight of stairs when all of a sudden, my lovely heels got stuck on one of the stairs, next thing i know, i am tumbling down the stairs, hitting every part of my body on the way, ending head first on my back with the rest of my body on the stairs. embarrassing? yes. painful? yes. lets just say the entire left side of my body, including my tailbone is sore, and to top it off, my whole right foot is swollen and squeezed into these heels. here's to being clumsy, eh?!
